Your Restaurant Is Listed on FoodRaccoon
Effective: 15.08.2026
You probably found this page because your restaurant appears in the FoodRaccoon app even though you are not a FoodRaccoon partner. That is intentional, not a mistake. This page explains what data we show about your business, where it comes from, on what legal basis we process it, and how you can have the listing removed if you wish.
What Data We Show About Your Business
We show your business's name, address and location coordinates, as well as, where available, its cuisine type and opening hours. You did not provide this information to us — we took it from publicly available map data (see the next section). The listing cannot be ordered from through FoodRaccoon and is marked accordingly in the app as a non-partner restaurant.
Where the Data Comes From
The information shown comes from publicly available sources — in particular OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License, ODbL — https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright), supplemented by cross-checking against Overture Maps and Foursquare Open Source Places. We provide this information without any guarantee of accuracy or completeness. If you believe any information is incorrect, please let us know in addition to any objection you may raise (Section 5).
Legal Basis for the Processing
We process this data based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in as complete a local restaurant directory as possible. It serves as the basis for tagging posts in the social feed and for surfacing genuine demand for new partner restaurants. Given the large number of businesses displayed in this way, individually notifying each business would involve disproportionate effort (Art. 14(5)(b) GDPR); this publicly accessible page takes the place of such individual notification.
Your Right to Object (Art. 21 GDPR)
As the owner of a listed business, or as a person otherwise affected by a listing, you may object to this processing at any time. This is free of charge, requires no justification, and requires no proof of ownership — we do not ask you to prove the business is yours.
How to Object — and What Happens Next
Send us a short, informal message with the business's name and address to the address below. You will typically receive an acknowledgment within 2 business days. We will then remove the listing promptly, typically within 7 days; this includes any existing post tags referencing it. The listing will not be re-added in future data updates. The statutory maximum processing time is one month (Art. 12(3) GDPR); we generally proceed considerably faster than that.
What a Removal Cannot Undo
Content that users have previously shared outside the app on their own — such as screenshots or shared images — is outside our control and cannot be reached by a removal, just as with any other screenshot.
Your Further Rights
In addition to the right to object, you have further rights as a data subject under Art. 15–22 GDPR, such as the rights to access, rectification and erasure. A full overview is available in our Privacy Policy.
