Community Guidelines

As of 09.07.2026

The FoodRaccoon feed is where the pack shows off its catch: your best orders, your favorite döner, the cake that was too pretty to eat — and then got eaten anyway. To keep the feed a place where everyone feels comfortable, a few simple rules apply. Be fair, stay legal, and treat others the way you'd want to be treated.

These Community Guidelines apply to everything you share in the social feed: your photos and captions, your profile, your likes, and who you follow. They supplement our General Terms and Conditions. If you use the feed, they apply to you.

1. What this is about

In the social feed you post photos of your food, write a short caption, and optionally tag the restaurant or the dish. You decide who sees your post: only your followers, everyone, or both. Your posts belong to you. You can delete them or change their visibility at any time.

These guidelines set out what's okay and what isn't. They apply to everyone 18 and older who is active in the feed. Together with the Terms and Conditions, they are the community's rules of the game.

2. What doesn't belong in the feed

Most of this is self-explanatory. Here's the list anyway, for clarity. Content is not allowed if it

violates applicable law,

incites violence or hatred against people or groups, for example because of origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability,

threatens, intimidates, harasses, or bullies others,

insults, defames, or deliberately exposes others,

is sexually explicit or pornographic,

glorifies violence or is disturbingly graphic,

contains spam, chain messages, or misleading advertising,

impersonates another person or FoodRaccoon itself (fake profiles),

promotes illegal or dangerous products, such as drugs, weapons, or prescription medication,

violates the privacy of others, for example through other people's personal data such as addresses or phone numbers, or through secretly taken photos.

This applies to everything you contribute: your photo, your caption, and anything you add in the editor, including text, stickers, or drawings.

In short: if you're not sure whether something is okay, it probably isn't.

3. Photos: only what belongs to you

Only share photos you took yourself or for which you hold the rights. Images from the internet, other people's photos, or copyrighted material don't belong in your feed.

If other people are recognizable in your photo, you need their consent before sharing it (right to one's own image, § 22 KUG). This also applies to the people at the next table. When in doubt: keep faces out of frame or ask first.

Keep in mind: if you make a post public or share it on Instagram or Snapchat, people outside the app can see it too.

If you take photos in the restaurant, respect the venue's house rules and the other guests.

4. Be a good sport

The feed is where people who love good food come together. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. Criticism of a restaurant or a dish, for example in your caption, is completely fine as long as it stays factual. "The pizza was too salty for me" is fair. Personal attacks, insults, or hate speech are not.

Stick to food and respect, and you'll be fine.

5. Report what doesn't belong

Come across a post that doesn't belong here? Report it directly in the app. Tap the menu on the post, choose a reason (inappropriate content, spam, harassment, illegal content, or other), and optionally add a short description. We review every report promptly.

If it concerns content that is allegedly illegal within the meaning of Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (DSA), you can also use the report function for that, or contact [email protected].

6. What happens when the rules are broken

We take a graduated approach. Depending on the case, this ranges from a warning, to removing individual posts, up to suspending the account for serious or repeated violations.

A human on our team always decides on an account suspension — never an automated system.

And importantly: whenever we take action against your content or your account (removal, warning, or suspension), we tell you the reason and how you can have the decision reviewed.

7. Don't agree? Let us know

You think we got it wrong? It happens. Reach out via the contact option in section 8 and describe your case as precisely as you can. We'll take another look. Your right to pursue legal action remains unaffected by this.

8. Contact

Questions, concerns, or complaints relating to these guidelines, as well as notices under Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (DSA), should be directed to [email protected].
